"Okay, so...blanket, change of clothes, towels. You good?"
Alaric nodded, still smiling as he looked around the room. "Yeah...yeah, I'm good."
Damon nodded, standing in the doorway of the bathroom attached to the bedroom they were offering to Alaric. He tilted his head, then after a beat crossed over to impulsively clasp him in a brotherly embrace.
"I'm really glad you're here, buddy." he murmured quietly, nodding once before drawing away.
Alaric obligingly hugged Damon back, smirking a little as the other man pulled back. "I'm glad to be here."
Damon just nodded yet again, then smiled a little and walked out of the room.
As the door shut about halfway, Alaric took a deep breath and looked around with keen interest. After all, he'd been sublimated by his alter ego after completing his transition...with the completion of the spell Bonnie had used to restore Jeremy, and Alaric by some strange accident, to life, Alaric was experiencing his vampirism for the first time. He felt okay, a little better after a couple of bloodbags that Damon had offered him. Mostly, it was being alive again that was hard to get used to.
Right now, there was only one thing he really wanted.
With a small, greedy smile, Alaric shed his jacket, then skinned off his t-shirt. Heading into the bathroom without bothering to close the door, he leaned into the shower stall to start it running, taking a seat on the toilet to tug off his shoes before he stood, undoing his belt so he could unzip his pants, then climb into the shower to let the scalding hot water pound down on his skin with a grateful sigh.
Yep: there was nothing better for a sudden resurrection after a hard night than a hot shower.
He was just finishing up when he realized he could hear footsteps over the sound of the running water. Trying to wrap his head around it, he shut off the water quickly and raked his hands back through his wet hair, ducking his head just outside the shower curtain to see someone standing in the middle of his room...
"Elena?"
Alaric nodded, still smiling as he looked around the room. "Yeah...yeah, I'm good."
